24. Assemble a First Aid kit to keep in my car

Next week I will be going to San Diego for a New Teacher Training with my new school, Fusion Academy.  I will be taking this trip alone, which I have never done before.  Therefore, I thought since I'll be ridin' dirty solo that it might be a good idea to complete #24 and get a first aid kit in my Yaris in case of an emergency :)

Here were my thoughts on assembling the kit..
I had looked up on a website what all the necessities were.  There were great kits already assembled that you could buy for a very low price. (You can check those out here if you're interested.) But to me, that wasn't ME assembling the kit.  The website lists all that is included in the kit so I wrote down all the materials and went to Target to begin the process!

These are the troubles I ran into:
1. Target didn't have everything on the list
2.  I didn't know what a few of the items even were on the list to know where else to find them
3.  What I did find from my handy list as going to cost a FORTUNE

That is when I ran into this totally cute and adorable "Medibag" for $12.99.

Now, the Medibag didn't have ALL that I was hoping for inside of it but it had the majority of what I needed!

The Medibag included:
1. Assorted bandages - all different shapes and sizes
2. Anti-itch ointment
3. Antibiotic ointment
4. Assorted gauze pads
5.  Sting-free antiseptic wipes
6. Burn relief cream
7. Sting relief cream
8.  Cotton applicator swabs
9. Instant ice pack
10.  Hand sanitzer
11. Tweezers
12.  Latex gloves
13.  First aid guide
14. Kid friendly stickers :)
15.  Emergency family label
16.  All inside the "Doctor's bag"

What I added:
1. Wet wipes
2. Kleenex
3.  Hello Kitty bandaids (NECESSARY!)
4.  Asprin
5.  Icyhot
(this may be something only for me, I get really bad muscle cramps in my knees when I am driving long distances)

And TA-DA! Emergency First Aid Kit COMPLETE! :)

(You can also find the kit and other materials at www.medibag.com)

7. Take a romantic weekend/day trip.

On a very random afternoon, I am sitting at work -- not working -- and had a fantastic idea.. David and I should get away for New Years!  I called David and he totally agreed!! We decided to take a mini-vaca to San Diego for New Years Eve where we stayed in Little Italy and completely adored it!

We spent the afternoon on Coronado Island.  It was the most adorable little place.  I kept telling David that I wanted to move there.. in reality, there is no chance, but it was a nice thought at the time :)

We thought that we would want to go to the Gaslamp District to ring in the New Year, where we have been before and had a BLAST, but we decided to stick to the little town that we were already staying in and it was the best idea ever!!

FUNNY STORY - We have a very romantic dinner at this little Italian restaurant just a block away from our hotel...
Then, we decide to head out to find a bar/club to hang out at for the evening.  We pass a few places that are charging through the roof for cover charges, then we come up to a little bar that has music bumpin' and is only chargin $20 to get in (as oppose to the $50 next door).  We think, ya ok! Lets go!
...
We get in and there is no bartender and only Solo red cups everywhere.. We look further and there are girls running around barefoot and just a crowd, of what looked like to me, high school kids.  Of course, our first thought is, "great! we just lost $40!"

I walk outside to talk to the bouncers and as if this is a high school event.  He says, "OH! You're not apart of the private party?? This is a private event for the local high school!"
..
....
UMM WOW! David was in a suit, head to toe.. and I am in 5 inch heels -- apparantly that still didn't help us get past the high school "look".. Fortunately, he gave us our money back and directed us to a spot that he thought was more age appropriate for us..

That is how we ended up at The Waterfront bar and had a complete blast to countdown 2011 in!

The following day we ventured around the area and walked around.  All together it was a very romantic and eventful weekend!

15. Be in two places at once.

Okay, okay! So I stole this from A Walk to Remember but who wouldn't want to try this!

Erin and I took up the opportunity of crossing this off of both of our lists while traveling from Arizona to California.  We meant to do this on the way into the desert, but it didn't exactly work out; therefore, we managed to get it on the way back.  NO Excuses!

David was the most scared as we stood on the side of the road and straddled the border of California to Arizona.  Cars were whizzing by and the wind was blowing like CRAZY! But it was so worth it -- we captured the moment!

15. Be in two places at once

Erin and I both have this goal on our Day Zero Project lists and have been waiting quite some time to complete it.  Our last trip to Arizona was our big chance to make this happen!!

On our way to Arizona we stopped at the state line to take a few pictures, but we didn't exactly capture the image we were hoping for. Let me draw a picture for you, state line is on a bridge that doesn't feel exactly secure if you were to stand on it.  There are huge semi-trucks and cars moving past very quickly!  It is extremely windy and the bridge is over a huge body of water.  SO! David took the pictures and was so scared of standing on the bridge that he got the picture of us straddling the line, but not the sign to show what we were doing at all.

Therefore, we had to make another pit stop to the state line to try to capture this image one final time, and David got it perfectly :)
Here is the sign showing the state line between California and Arizona....
And here we are!!! Straddling ourselves between the two = we're in California and Arizona at the same time!
(See the crazy hair? That'd be the wind.  And off to the right, that'd be the ledge leading to the big body of water under us.. it was quite the experience.)
